I’VE often heard of Witton Lakes and, on a rainy afternoon this week, I decided to do this week’s walk there. On a rather grey, dull and depressing kind of day, it was not something my husband relished. But he kindly agreed to accompany me and I did appreciate the gesture. Helping to lift our mood was a diverse mixture of birdsong and pondlife. It cheered us up no end, as did spotting yet another Art Deco style building. Some rubbish around the edges of the lakes was a bit sad for a beautiful spot, but do look out for the pair of swans – they are stunners! Read
