Rival says Blunkett is talking Balkans on split

HOME Secretary John Reid has ruffled a few feathers with his proposal to split the Home Office in two.

Conservatives are miffed, as they have been saying the same thing for some time, although their proposals are slightly different. Former Home Secretary David Blunkett has opposed the proposals.

But Dr Reid has a supporter in the form of Tom Watson, Labour MP for West Bromwich East.

Mr Watson says: "David Blunkett opposes John Reid's arguments to restructure the Home Office. He says that breaking the department up will create a 'Balkanisation' of government. Now I know I was right to support John yesterday."

Is he not a fan of Mr Blunkett?
