A different way to ease rail congestion

FORMER Birmingham MP Robin Corbett has a novel idea for reducing overcrowding on trains - make it harder to get on them in the first places.

The former MP for Erdington said: "We limit the number of people who can travel by bus and we don't allow people to stand on aeroplanes, so why can't we limit people travelling by train to those who bought tickets at least the day before the journey?"
