A Scot of bother for Mr Brown

WHILE we anticipate the results of next week's local elections, the real event may be in Scotland, where voters are electing a new Scottish Assembly.

If the Nationalists achieve the success they hope for, and form an administration, a referendum on independence could follow.

A vote for the SNP doesn't necessarily mean Scots want independence.

But any serious talk about Scotland leaving the UK will cause problems for Scottish MP and would-be Premier Gordon Brown.
