An 'Ace' up his sleeve

QUOTING an expert is always a good way of making your argument sound more convincing.

So John Whittingdale (Con) passed on the comments of one of his London constituents during a House of Commons debate about copyright laws.

Musicians are angry that they only own the copyright to recordings of their work for 50 years, after which they stop earning royalties.

Mr Whittingdale told a government minister: "Perhaps he will especially bear in mind the remarks of "Fast" Eddie Clarke, formerly of Motörhead, who wrote to me."

It's good to know that even the wildest men of rock and roll write a letter to their MPs when they are upset.
