Lynne's in the firing line
LYNNE Jones, the MP for Selly Oak (Lab), found herself in the firing line after supposedly attacking the army for its attitude towards Selly Oak hospital.
A London-based newspaper claimed she got stuck into the row over whether Selly Oak provided a good service for injured soldiers by accusing the army of wanting "a little empire".
An indignant Dr Jones told the Commons: "The comments attributed to me in no way reflected the lengthy conversation that I had with the reporter involved."
