Peer's slogan sounds familiar

BLUES fans will be familiar with the British motto proposed by a Midland peer.

Justice Minister Lord Hunt of Kings Heath was put on the spot when he was challenged to reveal his proposed national motto.

It followed reports that the government is planning to introduce a national slogan.

Eventually he came up with: "Keep right on till the end of the road".

As he told colleagues in the House of Lords, this is Birmingham City's motto.

But Lord Hunt also denied the government wanted a national motto at all. Mr Brown wanted "a statement of British values", he said.
