Cowell sees sense on tiny Connie

AN INSANITY nipped neatly in the bud was the stardom of six-year-old Connie Talbot by Simon Cowell.

This Sutton Coldfield child, you may remember, received rapturous applause when she sang on Britain's Got Talent earlier this summer. She didn't win but judge Cowell forecast a bright singing career for her.

Now - mercifully - he's changed his mind. Connie, he feels, after consideration, is too young for a recording career. Her parents have been advised to seek a music company that caters for children.

Better still, I think they should forget showbusiness until their daughter is at least a teenager.

They do themselves no favours by telling us that Connie asks why Simon Cowell doesn't love her any more.

It would take a heart of stone not to laugh at such schmaltz.
