Generosity so simples, Mohamed!

GOOD on Harrods owner Mohamed Sayed – and we don’t say it that often after his claims that Prince Philip and the Royals had a hand in the “murder” of Diana and his son, Dodi.
Fair play, though. The old boy bought 5,000 meerkat toys, this season’s must-have gift, and donated them to children’s charities with the advice they be auctioned on eBay to raise funds.
Parents seeking the toys for their kids at Harrods are furious that none are now available for £20 each.
But the first meerkat sold raised £920 for a children’s hospice in London.
Thus providing, I’d have thought, a great chance for whinging parents to explain to their bereft offspring how happy they should be that their disappointment was helping the less fortunate.
But I wouldn’t bet on this generosity of spirit.
