DYSPEPTIC from festive overload, Britain implodes.
No, nothing serious. Just an epidemic of denouncing each other as racist and fainting when the Prime Minister insults Tourette sufferers for suggesting their tics and obscenities are the very devil to sit near.
Then, underlining the lunacy of this hypersensitivity, into the limelight steps the unpleasant Stan Collymore, the man who beat-up Ulrika Johnson and was later involved in unseemly rural activities.
He Twitters that he was racially insulted.
Forget the bruised feelings on football pitches. Men who aren’t too bright will always resort to race insults – and two-thirds of the terrace crowds, of similar mentality, enjoy it.
Back in the days of Roman ascendancy, spectators at the Coliseum used similar epithets.
That aside, why shouldn’t MP Diane Abbott remark that the British always divide to rule? That is the truth. How could they have held Asia and Africa in submission with so small a white force if they hadn’t rewarded the more intelligent of their conquered to oppress the rest?
What we’re seeing here isn’t shock. It’s imbecility, total inability to stomach historic truth.
We’ve shuddered anew this week as memories of young Stephen Lawrence’s murder have been refreshed. But note one fact. The lad is buried in Jamaica because his parents feared a British grave would forever be targeted by white racists.
Set that against the furious response to Abbott and you might feel that her divide and rule description of white colonialism is benign.
Another angle of this weird British mindset, swept by political correctness to fester under our island’s carpet, is that a hugely thriving section of black Britain regularly insults its white brothers and sisters in rap music, heavy with allusions to whitey hoes, shooting and rape.
These men, role models for disaffected, under-educated and unemployed young blacks, have become a protected species because politicians fear them too much to chide them.
We’ve reached a strange point in British life: all white criticism, of any man, woman or child with a dark skin is screamed down as racism. Equally, whites believe black people take their daughters, their homes and their jobs. Thus they see themselves as victims of black oppression.
Then, from the wings, certain Muslims, with little knowledge of their Koran, shout they’re persecuted by Islamaphobia. Christians, leaderless in Britain, have no champion to fight their corner because, typically, modern churchmen are gutless.
Those of us who didn’t play truant during history lessons hug to ourselves a morsel of hope: great demographic movements take centuries to shake down. The good old Anglo-Saxons, colonised by the Normans in the 11th century, were still muttering and plotting against their descendants 300 years later.
