Fantasia set to return

THE CBSO's popular Fireworks Fantasia concert in Canon Hill Park is in line for a comeback.

Birmingham arts supremo, Cllr Ray Hassall has been telling me he wants to re-launch the event, which once attracted 28,000 visitors.

Attendances dwindled when charges were introduced in 1998, and it was finally scrapped in 2005.

"I would like to see it back, but we've got to find a way to make it work," Hassall said.

"I don't think we need it every year, but as an occasional feature... I think people would enjoy it."
