Sarah's Law would make nobody safer

THE sickening truth about paedophiles is that most of them prey on family members and the children of friends or neighbours.

That's why an American-style Sarah's Law - in honour of murdered toddler Sarah Payne - would be a waste of time.

Identifying offenders after they've been released into the community would only encourage vigilante attacks, without making our youngsters any safer.

By all means let's have tough measures to ensure that child abusers can't easily offend again.

Just don't hand over the rule of law to the lynch mob.
