Pubs warned to turn it down

DIGBETH’S existing pubs and clubs will have to "turn down the volume" if they want to make the most if its regeneration.

That’s the warning from Kings Heath and Moseley councillor Martin Mullaney who warns that existing businesses must be willing to compromise as more full-time residents move in.

"They’ve got to recognise that change is coming" he says.

"Digbeth desperately needs to be revitalised and we’ve got bring more people into the area to live. In the long run, that’s actually good news for the pubs and clubs that are there already, because it means more customers for them.

"But they’ll have to turn down the volume if they want to be part of it."
