Party ban is an own goal

The Stirrer

PARTY pooping Baggies bosses have done their best to give the club a bad name in the wake of winning the Championship.

By refusing to play ball with Sandwell Council's plans for a victory parade, they've disappointed thousands of fans who just wanted to celebrate a fine achievement.

What's really sad is that it gives the impression that Albion don't give a damn about the local community - and nothing could be further from the truth.

Just a few weeks ago, the club hosted a wonderful evening for the family and supporters of Blind Dave Heeley, as the West Brom runner set off on his round the world marathon challenge. They've also won accolades for their work with schools and young people.

Oh, and they've also delighted 20,000 Hawthorns regulars this season, with the best football we've seen in more than a quarter of a century.

As a supporter, I'm prepared to forgive this one silly own goal.
