If you dislike us, go

I HAVE read a number of articles by Maureen Messent and wonder how much longer we can tolerate her constant criticism of our country.Read

Wake up, Labour

THE Bradford Election results are a shot in the arm at long last.Read

Keep the status quo

I SHALL be voting No to an elected Mayor in the forthcoming referendum on May 3, for the following reasons.Read

Help young jobless

RE story in the the Mail on Monday, March 26 (MPs: Osborne has not helped Jobless).Read

‘No’ to ex-minister

I SEE another vain ambitious Labour politician has joined the race to be considered as a candidate to be Birmingham’s elected mayor. I refer to the one and only Liam Byrne.Read

Modern day view

THE election of gorgeous George Galloway in the recent Bradford West by-election speaks volumes about how people feel about modern day political parties and politicians in general.Read

Wishing Suzanne well

I, LIKE many people, was shocked at the departure of Midlands Today presenter Suzanne Virdee. For not allowing her the chance to thank her watchers is a poor thing.Read

Denied cheap water

A J Hubble (Letters, March 29) makes some disparaging remarks about publicly-run utilities. Perhaps he should turn his attention to Birmingham’s water supply.Read

How did it go so wrong?

HOW can the UK get everything so wrong in the organisation of the Olympics?Read

I felt I was a nuisance

HAVING read the letter from Barbara Dunn (Mail, March 22) regarding the appalling treatment she received at the QE Hospital, I agree whole-heartedly.Read

Wednesday's letters

I HAVE just read the accounts of police officers on the recent riots (Mail, September 19).Read

ALEX McLeish walking out on Blues leaves a nasty taste.

It just won’t work at Villa and if he was that unhappy at Blues, why wait until the Villa job became available (as seventh choice) and not do the manly thing and go after relegation?Read

No headline

I AM getting tired of all these comments from Blues fans who slate Alex McLeish and say it’s time for a change and he has taken us as far as he can.Read

PLEASE can we have some perspective in the debate on Blues?

Alex McLeish got us to our highest position in 51 years and managed us to our first trophy in 48 years. He is a top-class manager.Read

Your Shout sport letters

YOU have got to feel for Alex McLeish.Read

I READ with interest the comments of three “Bluenoses” last week on the “Your Shout Special” page and would like to add some comments of my own.

Firstly, I agree with Mr “Feed The Force” in that Alex McLeish has done a cracking job thus far for our club. Promotion to the Premiership then to finish ninth the next season is, indeed, a wonderful achievement.Read

AS SOON as a job becomes vacant at a Premier League club this year I can see Alex McLeish being linked and, to be frank, I wouldn’t blame him for going.

He performs miracles for the club by finishing in a record position, despite a lack of investment, and just a few months later fans are booing his team and moaning about his tactical decisions.Read

I AM very impressed with some of the noises coming out of Villa Park as Gerard Houllier seeks to impose his style of play on the squad.

He intends us to be an on-the-floor possession/passing side. Excellent, in complete contrast to Martin O’Neill’s ‘hit-and-hope’.Read

LET Albion enjoy their day in the sun. They will be back in the Championship in May with Wolves.

They were lucky that Blues decided to have their worst half under Alex McLeish.Read

IT’S about time Carson Yeung was given some credit. The bottom line is that Yeung has the money and he has invested.

He has said that the £20 million to £40 million comment was a mistake but we have tried to smash our transfer record with N’Zogbia, we have invested heavily on quality and have put other bids in that didn’t come off (eg £5 million for Dembele and Miccolli).Read
