Bruce hangs fire on Ridgewell bid

STEVE Bruce is hanging fire on a loan raid for Villa's Liam Ridgewell.
The Blues boss doesn't think that Villa manager Martin O'Neill will deplete his squad by allowing the cross-city switch at present.
Just before the transfer window shut, Blues offered Villa a £250,000 loan fee and £2 million to make the move permanent, but only on promotion.
"I've not spoken to Martin O'Neill for 10 days," said Bruce. "I don't think he will let him out on loan now.
"At the moment, we've got Jaidi, Taylor and N'Gotty who have done well so I'm in no major rush to do anything. If something happens to one of them or whatever, then I'll see."
