McCann makes Bolton switch

VILLA today paved the way for the arrival of Nigel Reo-Coker by selling Gavin McCann to Bolton.
The fee is believed to be in the region of £1million plus add-ons for appearances and league placings.
McCann's departure should allow Villa to press through with a £7million bid for West Ham's England under-21 skipper within the next few days.
McCann was David O'Leary's first signing for £2million from Sunderland four years ago and was a popular figure in the dressing room. But he lost his place to youngster Craig Gardner following a 1-1 home draw to Everton towards the end of last season with Gardner helping Villa to an unbeaten seven-match run at the end of the campaign.
