O'Neill planning move for Dutch youngster

VILLA manager Martin O'Neill is believed to be keen to tie up a deal for Feyenoord's rising star Royston Drenthe.

The 20-year-old attacking left-back was a central figure for his club last season and is a big crowd favourite.

He is currently with the Dutch Under-21s who have started the European Championships in fine form.

Chief scout Ian Storey-Moore is thought to have run the rule over Drenthe for some time and is in currently Holland.

Drenthe began his career as a left-winger and made 26 appearances for his club last season.

O'Neill lost Jlloyd Samuel to Bolton at the end of the season on a free transfer and is on the look-out for competition for Dutch international Wilfred Bouma.
