Laursen won't get carried away

Martin Laursen

MARTIN Laursen has urged his teammates and supporters to keep their feet on the ground following Villa's rampant performance over Italian champions Inter Milan.

The former AC Milan defender was on target with a well-taken headed goal in the victory, which was so comprehensive that fans are waiting impatiently for the sell-out visit of Liverpool to Villa Park on Saturday (5.15pm).

But Laursen is calling for caution.

"We can't win 3-0 every time we play Inter Milan, Chelsea or Manchester United," he said. "It was a good day and it was positive that we won, but still we can't get carried away."

Villa round off their pre-season with a trip to Walsall tomorrow night (7.45pm), while the reserves tackle Chasetown on Wednesday night (7.15pm) - adults £5, children £2.
