We want another away win - Olof Mellberg

DEFENDER Olof Mellberg says Aston Villa will be looking to carry on their fine away form with another solid performance at Chelsea on Boxing Day.

Villa have not been beaten in their last four league games against the London club and head to Stamford Bridge in high spirits.

Martin O'Neill's men have lost just once since February away from home and Mellberg believes Villa can surprise a few people.

"Hopefully we can carry on our good away record at Stamford Bridge," he said. "It would be some scalp to do the double over them - but we'll give it a go.

"We haven't won home or away for four games and a win against Manchester City would have given us a lot of confidence going into the Chelsea match.

"But we've done well away and when you haven't won for a few games, it can be good to play away from home once in while because there's no pressure."

Mellberg says the pressure will all be on third-placed Chelsea.

"I don't think there will be any pressure on us, so maybe that will suit us," he added. "In recent years, we've done well against Chelsea, but they're a really strong side, especially at home.

"We played really well against them at home this season but it will be a different game on Wednesday and I'm sure they will play better as well.

"They're on top of their game whereas when we played them before, they were struggling a little bit."
