Martin O'Neill praises his key Aston Villa trio

MARTIN O'Neill has pointed to the rise in confidence of three key players - John Carew, Martin Laursen and 'super sub' Marlon Harewood - as Villa look for a first win at Arsenal in almost 15 years.

"Everything you see in the players is down to self-confidence - it's down to them," he said. "Players get the confidence themselves and it's what they do on the field that counts.

"Carew's second-half performance at Reading was out of this world, really fantastic. He's starting to believe he's capable of doing it," he said.

"Laursen has been absolutely terrific and where he is now is great credit to him "And Marlon is coming on and having a massive impact in the games."
