Wilfred Bouma's performance praised
WILFRED Bouma has been praised for his second-half performance at Reading last weekend - but the entire squad have been told by Martin O'Neill that they need big performances on a regular basis.
"I thought Wilfred did very well indeed, but as a team we have got to keep this sort of thing going,'' said the Villa boss.
"I don't want someone doing alright one week - and I am not talking about Wilfred or anybody else specifically.
"Doing well one week out of three or four, that sort of consistency isn't going to get anybody anywhere. It could not even be called 'consistency'. 'Consistently mediocre', I suppose!
"We want big performances from players very, very often. That is what we must look for if we are going to try to improve."
