John Carew: Aston Villa result is simply the best

John Carew celebrates.

JOHN Carew hailed the thrashing of Blues as the "greatest experience" of his 15 months at Villa.

The 28-year-old Norwegian left the field to a huge ovation of the Holte End who sang: "He's bigger than you or me, he'll score two or three" as he took his goal tally to 12 for the season and 15 since his swap with Milan Baros in January 2007.

Carew has now netted in three in two games and admitted Villa are flying: “"The feeling in the dressing room after the match was fantastic. This was the greatest experience for me since I came to the club", he said.

“"The atmosphere in the stadium was electric and it was just unbelievable the whole way through. I really enjoyed the game."

Villa head to Everton this weekend having netted four against Bolton, six against Derby and five against Blues.

They have now scored 67 goals for the season- one more than Arsenal, three more than Tottenham and five more than Liverpool and only behind Manchester United's haul of 73.

“We'’ve now scored 15 goals in three matches which must be some kind of record", said Carew. "The last few matches have been really great and yesterday was unbelievable.

“We are playing amazing football. There are so many goals and there is so much potential in this team. We can score more goals than almost any team in the league, so that is a really strong force for us.

“Winning these games means the same to the players as the fans. It’s about pride and winning important matches like this, there’s no better feeling than celebrating with the fans.

“We have been fighting for Europe all season and now with three wins in a row we’re really in the race for the UEFA Cup. Now I'’m looking forward to another big game at Everton and hopefully we can take another three points.”

Carew thanked Ashley Young and John Carew for providing his goals.

“Ashley created my first. He saw me in space as he has done all season and he found me with a great free-kick. For my second goal Gareth Barry did all the hard work and I’'m really grateful to him."
