Randy Lerner: I'm not moving to Britain

Randy Lerner

RANDY Lerner has denied reports that he is to become chief executive at Villa Park and move permanently to England.

The Birmingham Mail reported on Saturday that Lerner's right-hand man Paul Faulkner is to assume the role, albeit without a title, with Lerner becoming more hands-on following the departure of Michael Cunnah.

In a response to the American press, Lerner said: "To clarify recent reports, I'm not becoming a permanent resident/citizen of the UK.

"I will not be changing the amount of time I spend with either the Browns or Aston Villa, nor will I be assuming the title or role of chief executive officer of Villa.

"The responsibilities of that position are currently spread among several people at the club and I am comfortable and confident continuing in that manner."
