Martin O'Neill says Aston Villa don't need to rely on John Carew

“John Carew will tell you that is just the way we are.
“We would not have played a game without John because we would have been weakened.
“But the performance at Arsenal gave the boys belief.
“Now if I can get that little bit of extra competition for places it should stand us in good stead.”
O’Neill says he was ecstatic that Agbonlahor shone in Berlin.
“What a week it was for him,’’ said O’Neill.
“He was brilliant against Arsenal, made his debut for England and took on the challenge of facing two of the finest defenders in Europe (Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic) and he was up there matching them which was fantastic.
“I couldn’t be more pleased he made his debut for England.’’
