Young and Agbonlahor a deadly double act for Villa

ASHLEY Young and Gabby Agbonlahor have been described as “every defender’s worst nightmare” by Curtis Davies, who is just pleased that he only squares up to them in training.

The young England duo were in inspired form against Bolton, with Davies saying they thoroughly merited all the praise coming their way.

“When Ash cuts in from the right and gets a bit more of a licence to roam you can never really tie him down,” said Davies.

“If you are a right-back and your team play a ball up there you know you have a long way to run back to catch him.

“Gabby – if you give him a yard he is just going to knock it past you and run.

“He doesn’t need to do any skills because he is so fast.

“There are not many who will catch him.

“Ash is quality. Maybe the manager meant he is our Messi (Barcelona’s superstar).

“He makes thing happen and creates chances.

“If we are looking for a goal and are desperate, Ash is more than likely to be the one to pop up and create it.

“He is doing fantastically at the moment and hopefully we can push and stay in that top four.

“You are not meant to peak as a player until 27 or 28, so Ash has another five years to get even better than he is now.

“If he continues to improve he will be one of the best players in the world.”

Off the pitch Young and Agbonlahor also like to be the centre of attention.
