Aston Villa: Cup commitments won't hurt top four challenge, vow players
That would mean 22 matches, the equivalent of more than half a Premier League season, in the last three months of the campaign.
But Villa are relishing the challenge.
Defender Curtis Davies summed up the feelings in the Villa Park dressing room by saying: “The cups are never a distraction for a club like us.
“You could say for the likes of the Manchester Uniteds and Chelseas that want to go and win the Champions League and compete for the Premier League that maybe things like the FA Cup are a distraction for them.
“But for us to win a cup would be massive. We haven’t won anything for donkey’s years, not since the League Cup,” he added.
These are the games that Villa could face in addition to the ones in the fixture list on this page: February 14 FA Cup 5th; March 7 FA Cup 6th, 12 UEFA last 16/1, 18 UEFA last 16/2; April 9 UEFA qf/1, 16 UEFA qf/2, 18/19 FA Cup sf, 30 UEFA sf/1; May 7 UEFA sf/2, 20 UEFA final, 30 FA Cup final.
