John Carew could soon be back in action for Aston Villa says boss Martin O'Neill

JOHN Carew is set for another meeting with medical specialists in a bid to bring an end to his injury nightmare.
The influential Norwegian striker has been laid low with back and hip complaints for the last two months.
Carew started the season in sparkling form by scoring his fifth goal against Sunderland in September.
But he has started just four of 21 matches since, including none of the last 13, since he was credited with a deflected goal at Slavia Prague on November 6.
Despite recent comments to the contrary from his agent Per Flod, manager Martin O’Neill has continually been optimistic that Carew would soon be back in action.
“John is making progress as well which is encouraging,” he said.
“You cannot put a definitive date on things like this but we are encouraged.
“He is feeling much, much better and in a week or so he has another appointment with the specialist.
