Aston Villa: Curtis Davies not interested in records

DEFENDER Curtis Davies says he is interested in winning football matches and not on setting records.
Villa’s record six straight away wins in a season can become seven at Blackburn, which would beat the six-game run over two seasons between 1896/1897 and 1897/98.
But Davies said: “You like to keep clean sheets as a defender but you don’t really look at records. For me, it is just about winning games.
“If we manage to win seven away, that’s brilliant, but we need to keep winning.
“Until someone said we had won the last six away you don’t really think about it because you play home games.
“You are thinking of it game by game rather than the away games.”
Davies says Villa relish playing on the break away from home.
“Teams at home will try and open up a bit more and play for their crowd rather than teams coming to Villa Park and being more defensive-minded and not allowing us any space,” he said. If Blackburn come out at us, we will have to be ready for it defensively and hopefully our forwards can exploit that.”
Villa have a chance to go eight points clear of Arsenal if they win because the North London derby at White Hart Lane is tomorrow.
Davies said: “It is good if you can get your points on the board before others but at the same time it doesn’t matter.
