Aston Villa: Fans divided as reaction to Moscow and Stoke fall out continues
I HAVE never been one to get on Martin O’Neill’s back – until now.
Villa should never have thrown two points away by conceding two late goals to Stoke but does our manager not know that you are allowed to use three substitutes?
O’Neill continually goes on about the small size of our squad and how tired the players are, which is why we threw the UEFA Cup with a reserve side in Moscow.
So if that’s the case, why didn’t he change things in the second half against Stoke and particularly when our lead was cut to 2-1.
It was obvious to everyone watching the game that Stoke were going to level it, so why not throw Gardner and/or Reo-Coker on to give us some bite in midfield, especially as Agbonlahor was having such a poor game?
I fear these two lost points will now cost us a Champions League place come the end of the season.
