Aston Villa will welcome return of Wilfred Bouma

ZAT Knight and James Milner believe Wilfred Bouma’s imminent re-introduction to the first-team fold at Villa has come as a timely boost for Martin O’Neill’s men.

The Dutch defender played 90 minutes for the reserves against Chelsea last week and is thought to be only a few weeks away from a recall.

Now Knight is eagerly anticipating the return of the popular former PSV full-back.

“It’s been very frustrating for him watching the boys go out there and train. It must be really hard,” he said.

“Touch wood, I’ve never really been injured like that. It’s good for him to be back around the lads, having that morale, training with us.

“We have missed him, although Luke Young has done a tremendous job at left-back.
