Aston Villa: Fun in sun, now time to fire against Tottenham
Ashley Young is adamant that Aston Villa would still be ready to take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday even without the benefits of a sunshine break.
Young feels refreshed following the get-away in Dubai and insists Martin O’Neill’s Champions League hopefuls deserved the rest during an arduous season.
However, the winger reckons, Villa would be willing and able to get their promising season back on track, regardless of their few days respite in the Middle East.
“It was a good break,” said Young.
“I think the boys deserved a break, it was needed.
“Everyone has recharged their batteries and now we’re ready to go again.
“It’s something the gaffer felt was needed, we have played I don’t know how many games already, we had to come back early for pre-season and I think it was needed.
“Everyone is now looking forward to the last 10 games of the season.
“I think the boys would have been firing even if we hadn’t had the break.
“There’s not a game that we go into where we’re not firing and looking to get three points.
