Maroln Harewood's six-week only mission at Wolves

MARLON Harewood has revealed his role at Wolves is very much that of a trouble-shooter who will come in, help bolster the side’s promotion hopes but then return to Villa in six weeks’ time – hopefully with mission accomplished!

The striker has joined Mick McCarthy’s Championship leaders on loan until the end of the season but insists nothing has been discussed beyond then – after all, he has a year left on his Villa contract.

Harewood joined Villa in July 2007 but has been limited to only one Premier League start. But he was used to great effect last season as an impact man coming off the bench to score nine goals. This season, however, he is down the pecking order with the arrival of Emile Heskey to bolster Gabriel Agbonlahor and John Carew.

Harewood said McCarthy had summoned him to help with his promotion charge – a challenge he relishes.

“I haven’t been playing (for Villa) and he (Martin O’Neill) hasn’t been picking me – so when he said Wolves had come in for me and wanted me to go on loan to try to boost their chances of getting promoted, I said ‘yes’,’’ Harewood said.
