Zat Knight: Aston Villa defence is not good enough
Apr 14 2009 by Mathew Kendrick, Birmingham Mail
ZAT Knight today struggled to present a case for Villa’s creaking defence and admitted the claret and blue backline’s worrying wobble is “just not good enough”.
Martin O’Neill’s men have conceded 11 goals in three games with 5-0 and 3-2 defeats at Liverpool and Manchester United and Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Everton.
And Knight insists Villa must not use the constantly changing personnel in their back four as an excuse for giving away so many soft goals to opponents.
“It’s frustrating, especially as a defender,” said Knight.
“That’s your main aim to go out there and keep a clean sheet and if they don’t score at the other end that’s not our problem. Our problem is the back.
“It is frustrating and it’s just not good enough is it?
