Villa wait on decision over Martin Laursen's future

MARTIN O’Neill says Martin Laursen will get his full support whether he decides to fight on or retire from the game.
The Danish defender has been given time to mull over whether he can make a recovery from a succession of knee troubles.
O’Neill is thought to have offered his skipper the chance to remain a player without training as Paul McGrath did in the 1990s.
But even that is some way off for the 31-year-old.
“He is deliberating on what to do. We were hoping that he could recover but he is having a tough time,” said Villa manager O’Neill.
“He will make the decision and whatever decision he comes to I will respect with the utmost regard.
“He has already seen a specialist and now has to make up his mind.”
