O'Neill's hints that Carew is to stay with Aston Villa next season

“All three, if they can stay fit for next season, will definitely pose problems in whichever order we play – even including all three of them at the same time.”

Heskey and Carew formed a very promising front line against West Ham at the weekend.

“Emile did great, although he tired after missing the last couple of weeks,” continued O’Neill.

“John is very, very strong and with Gabby coming back, these three I think can only add to their tally.”

O’Neill has rarely had all three fit at the same time this season.

He continued: “These things can happen and we should be all the better for it.

“On Saturday they were very lively and did excellently. I was delighted with our play going forward.

“And of course with James Milner and Ashley Young providing, there’s no reason why these players cannot score a lot of goals.”
