I'll strive to get better, vows Aston Villa record signing James Milner

JAMES Milner says he has been satisfied with his first season back at Villa but has vowed to strive to improve his game.

The 23-year-old has become a first-team regular for Martin O’Neill since his club record £12million transfer in August.

Milner has become a firm favourite of the manager and, after making his first five league appearances off the bench, he has started 27 league games and scored twice, against Blackburn and Sunderland.

“It is always tough when you change club. It is not easy. There is a settling in period,” said Milner.

“I was here before (on loan) but this is a different set-up completely. You have to move house and things like that and it just takes time to settle.

“Hopefully I will get better and keep improving, playing with good players. But I have been fairly happy.”
