Aston Villa lionheart Luke Young plays through the pain

CLARET and blue lionheart Luke Young has been playing with an injury to avoid leaving Villa in the lurch.
Young revealed he has been carrying a troublesome knock for the last two months, having hurt his foot during Villa’s mid-season break in Dubai in March.
But despite the soreness, the versatile defender has only missed one game because he cannot bring himself to let Martin O’Neill’s men down.
“There’s been a few times during games where I’ve felt like putting my hand up to come off, but for some reason I can’t do that. I always end up fighting to play on,” said Young.
“I’ve not quite been at 100 per cent at any stage since I did it, but with so few games to the end I thought I would play through.
“It’s weird when you get on to the field and your body is warm, you’re aware of it but with the atmosphere and everything it tends to disguise itself a little bit.
“It’s the next day I wake up and I’m in pain again.
