Former Middlesbrough star Luke Young says Aston Villa will relegate former side

“They will need to get something against us otherwise they are probably going to be down. It will be a difficult day.
“It’s one of those things. You don’t want to send one of your old clubs down but I’m an Aston Villa player now. I’ve had a good year here, I enjoyed myself at Boro but you have to move on.
“It’s not going to be James Milner sending Newcastle down or me sending Boro down, the season is over 38 games.”
Young enjoyed his brief spell working under Southgate and believes the former Villa defender should be given more time to revive Boro’s fortunes.
“I like Gareth a lot,” said Young.
“He lets you go out there and play your own game. I think his hands have been tied a little bit financially and he had to get rid of some of the high earners at the club.
“I think he’s had to balance the books more than other managers there. Hopefully he will be given time. Even if they do go down I hope the chairman will keep Gareth in the hot-seat,” he added.
