Aston Villa star expects at least six signings

CURTIS Davies is anticipating an influx of at least six new signings to Villa Park this summer to boost next season’s Champions League push.
The former Albion defender made his move to Villa permanent around a year ago during a hectic close season for manager Martin O’Neill and the club. Brad Friedel, Brad Guzan, Luke Young, Nicky Shorey, Carlos Cuellar, Steve Sidwell and James Milner were also snapped up by Villa last summer.
And Davies is braced for a similar amount of wheeling and dealing this time around.
“I expect a lot of ins,” said Davies. “I don’t know about outs. We have got one of the squads that has used the least players again.
“I am sure the gaffer wants to build the squad rather than be breaking it apart. It will be an interesting summer. Last summer I think we signed something like six players so I can imagine something along similar lines.
