Manchester City new boy Gareth Barry under fire from Aston Villa fans
Ryan23: Don't know what all the fuss is about. Barry wants to better himself, be at a club who will be challenging for the Champions League next season and who have a manager not afraid to spend big and sign star players who need high maintenance, unlike Martin O'Myth.
Interesting that for all O'Myth's bleatings about a small squad, Everton, who have far less resources and just as heavy a fixture list, finished above Villa and reached the FA Cup final and don't do things like cheat fans by sending out the reserves in Europe. O'Myth will be found out for once and all next season, no danger.
SpookyUK: Does anyone else think that Barry going might affect our chances of attracting top quality?. I mean him going, especially to a non top 4 club, doesn't really make us look too ambitious does it?.
If MON is as clever as he thinks he is he will have deals already in the pipeline....I hope!. I do unfortunately think that we are now behind Citeh, Everton, and Spuds in terms of percieved potential for next season. Maybe we shouldn't have waited forBarry to go before getting the quality in.
