Aston Villa v Wigan: The fans have their say
Aston Villa fans have been sending us their comments in the aftermath of of Saturday's dismal home defeat against Wigan.
Here's a selection of those views:
Traza: Just because we have lost the first game of the season it doesn't warrant calling for the mamager to resign. However, it is about time MON gave some honest answers and cut out the usual nonsense and excuses.
There are now serious questions being raised about MON. He is now showing that he is not big enough to manage a big club like Aston Villa. He is arrogant enough to think that winning a pre-season friendly tournament means the squad is adequate. He himself adds insult to injury by not properly utilising the the squad he has at his disposal.
Surely we can not continue last season woeful form into this season, what is Randy Lerner's input into this, he needs to support MON financially and demand answers. RL and the board would be wrong in continuing to have blind faith in MON and it is not fair on the fans to have to watch home displays like today and many others last season.
I fear that we will get eliminated from the Europa Cup by Rapid Vienna, lose to Liverpool and still not make any sifnificant signings. We need to know what the board's plan is so that we can know what our expectations are.
SpookyUK: I just hope anyone will want to sign for us after Wigan display!!. Hardly bodes well for our prospects does it!?
