Brad Friedel says Villa will go out all guns blazing at Reds

Friedel admits that Villa’s previous trip to Anfield was an afternoon to forget when anything that could go wrong did go wrong.

But despite defeats to Wigan and Rapid Vienna, Villa’s No.1 insists Martin O’Neill’s men are excited rather than daunted about taking on Rafa Benitez’s team.

“It was just a disappointing day, culminating in a sending off, us losing the points and lot of things,” added Friedel.

“We’ll look to put that right and we’re going to be looking forward to it, especially after the first two results we’ve had now.

“It’s fantastic going there, we’re really looking forward to playing them.

“You want to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible, so we’re going to go out there with all guns blazing and hopefully get the three points.”
