Aston Villa match-saver Friedel: We're off the mark now

BRAD Friedel insists his match-saving performance was inspired by the misery of Villa’s previous trip to Anfield.
The former Liverpool stopper pulled off a string of important saves to make up for his red-card in last season’s 5-0 thrashing by the Reds.
“I supported Liverpool as a boy and I was fortunate enough to play here for a couple of seasons,” he said.
“To get sent off last season was a huge blow and not only that but to lose 5-0 on the day was incredibly painful.
“As a person I don’t like to experience the same feeling twice when it’s a negative. So we worked ever so hard and we got the result.”
