Can Aston Villa topple Manchester City? The fans have their say

Manchester City have so far provided plenty of evidence that money talks in football, the big-spenders are visitors to Villa Park on Monday with old-boy Gareth Barry looking to show just why he chose to join Mark Hughes and his assembled big-guns.

Can Aston Villa topple them? Here's what you think...

Shrek: Depends on which Richard Dunne turns up..! Personally, I think City have too much firepower for us. We need a counter attacking 4-5-1 where we get right into them and smother their midfield otherwise we're in for a long nite, methinx.

Rickmeister: If we play as we have done in our previous home games this season then I cannot see us getting anything from the game.
I am still not sure what to make of City. Against West Ham they played some fantastic passing football that we could only dream of and created loads of good chances.

However, they were playing a West Ham team missing key players and had the officials totally on their side (the free kick awarded before Petrov scored was dubious, and no way did Cole foul Lescott before Parker knocked it in for what should have been 2-2).

A worrying stat for me is that if you take Gabby out of the equation the only other goals scored by current, fit squad members are Young (penalty) and Milner (penalty). City have a whole host of potential goalscorers through their team and I think they could be ready to hammer someone soon. I am not convinced about their back 4, apart from Toure, so that could give us a chance or two.

If we really go for it and play a couple of levels higher than our other home games then we can definitely win. Will we win? probably not imo. If we play 4-5-1 and everyone gives 100% then we have a decent chance....4-4-2 and I cannot see anything other than an easy win for Citeh.

4-5-1 I will go for 2-2
4-4-2 i will go for 1-3

Ex-midlander2: I'm afraid to say 2-6 to City.

I agree with the person who said Gabby will take advantage of the still to settle Lescott, but I feel they will well and truly take us to the cleaners if they play anything like last night.

Watched Arsenal tonight and the football was sublime, Arshavin was awesome.
MON is not in Wengers league and when you consider there team cost far less than Mon has spent in 3.5 yrs its so frustrating.

In fact as I've said several times before MON isn't even in the top 10 of all time Villa managers.

Forevavillain1: Don't forget to bring your wellies and mac, its been chucking it down for the last 4 days.

If we play 4-4-2 Villa 1 City 5 , if we play 4-5-1 Villa 1 City 3

Spookyuk: With a possible loss again Chelski to follow, we could be on the brink of another one of those 'runs'

MattyP: One thing is for certain, Barry will have an absolute STORMER against us. It always happens when a former player comes to Villa Park. He'll probably score as well.

So far for me, Carew and Young haven't turned up this season yet, and we kinda need them to in this game and also MON needs to get over his silly 'I'll teach him a lesson' spat with NRC, immediately.

Our saving grace is that Lescott looks like Bambi on Ice at the minute, so Gabby could well cause him some problems. Having said that, I think they'll probably have too much up front for us. 1-2

LeeHolteK6:  Villa haven't drawn all season which is an interesting stat, as much as I want to get one over on Gareth Barry I do think this will be a draw. Quite an exctiting encounter, fast paced no doubt and all Villa players will want this more than most games! My heart says 2-1 Villa but I feel 2-2 is more likely. We have enough in our locker to keep them atbay as proven last season with top class clubs at Villa Park. I just hope Villa don't settle for a draw and go out all guns blazing as this is going to be one tough fixture as Man Citeh have proven this year!

2-1 to the Villa! Come on!
