Ashley Young: Aston Villa are on giant-killing form

ASHLEY Young believes it is the character of the squad which has guided Villa to an impressive tally of seven points from nine against three of the top four sides in the Premier League.
Villa took three points from Liverpool at Anfield, a point against Manchester City and heaped misery on Chelsea by taking the points off them – not a bad return considering that disastrous opening-day defeat to Wigan.
Young, who was responsible for setting up Villa’s goals in the weekend’s 2-1 win, said: “We just want to carry on the good form we have shown this season.
“To get a result like that at home against Chelsea is brilliant. Everyone is delighted.”
Young, who has shown no sign of despondency despite his recent omission from the England squad, added: “We felt we could have won the game against City so we are delighted with the way we won against Chelsea.
“To go a goal behind but then come bouncing back to win – and against Chelsea of all teams – was really pleasing.”
He added: “Confidence is sky high now and we are all delighted. There are so many factors but mainly it is down to the character and strength of the team. We couldn’t be happier.”
