MARTIN O’Neill is convinced a lack of World Cup football will not affect Villa striker John Carew’s performances, even if the giant Norwegian is mightily disappointed.
The frontman was unable to guide his native Norway to South Africa despite them finishing second in Group 9.

The way the play-offs were seeded meant Norway, with fewer teams in their group, just missed out, leaving Carew without any international or European football to play over the next few months.
