Wolves fitness coach Tony Daley reflects on Aston Villa career

“Saturday is a true derby. There will be an edge to it. I am sure the atmosphere will be fantastic.”

Wolves have been beaten at home already by relegation-threatened Portsmouth and West Ham, while a point against Hull City saw more points dropped.

“Our home form hasn’t been as great as it could have been and it something we are looking to address against Villa,” adds Daley. “We have to start putting it right.”

But he doesn’t think Wolves will be under any greater pressure to perform than they have been all season.

“You are under pressure every single game in the Premier League. If we were to beat Villa we’d still be under pressure in our next game against Stoke,” he says.

“The lads know that is the case, but it has helped that the lads have been outstanding.

“They have created a fantastic atmosphere at Molineux. So it is only a matter of time before we start to deliver results because our performances have been very good.”

Daley joined Wolves two seasons ago after four years with the Blades and gaining a science degree at Coventry University.

He is relishing every minute of the task ahead in Wolverhampton.

“We have got young, eager, fit players who can do that job. They are a fantastic bunch of lads to work with.

“I have no qualms with them – you ask them to do something and they get it done.

“I am in a very fortunate position to have young players – and some older ones too – who are great to work with. I couldn’t wish for a better group.”
