Aston Villa: John Robertson ruled out of Scotland job chase
VILLA manager Martin O’Neill has ruled his first-team coach John Robertson out of the running to take over as the next Scotland manager.
O’Neill insists the former Tartan Army winger would not be interested in succeeding George Burley, who was sacked this week.
“He’s a passionate Scotsman, but I think he would feel it’s not something he would put himself up for,” said O’Neill.
Rangers boss Walter Smith ruled himself out of the running yesterday, while Craig Levein refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with the post, claiming it would be disrespectful to Dundee United.
