Stud Marks: How Aston Villa's James Milner struggled to be heard at Burnley
VILLA winger James Milner is proving something of a media darling this season – always happy to step forward and discuss team matters with the nation’s assembled press.
But the England youngster’s post-match chat with reporters at Turf Moor was something of a test as he had to contend with an air-conditioning unit which kicked in midway through the player describing his delight at helping his side snatch a share of the spoils against Burnley.
Despite a cacophony of sound, the 23-year-old trotted out his thoughts on the game unperturbed as the machinery rattled on incessantly in the background.
Eventually the unit, like the interview, came to an end – only to be replaced by an ear-piercing security alarm.
It left some wondering whether it had been a simple coincidence or perhaps something more sinister with the Burnley staff perhaps eager to silence the man who had assisted in stealing a point from them with his cross for Emile Heskey’s equaliser.
